What is a urinary tract infection (UTI)?
A UTI occurs when bacteria infect any part of the urinary system, most commonly the bladder or urethra. It can cause uncomfortable symptoms like a burning sensation when urinating, needing to go more often, cloudy or strong-smelling urine and pelvic pain. While mild UTIs can sometimes clear on their own, treatment is often needed to relieve symptoms and stop the infection from spreading.
Diagnosis & Treatment
Our pharmacist will carry out a short consultation to check your symptoms and confirm if it is a simple urinary tract infection. If appropriate, we can provide NHS-approved treatment there and then. You won’t need a GP appointment or a prescription, everything is taken care of during your visit as part of the Pharmacy First service at Hollinswood Pharmacy.
