What is sinusitis?
Sinusitis, often referred to as a sinus infection, happens when the lining of your sinuses becomes inflamed and swollen. This can be caused by a cold, allergies or other infections. In most cases, symptoms clear up within a couple of weeks, but if it lingers, treatment can help speed up recovery and ease discomfort.
Common symptoms include a blocked or runny nose, thick mucus, tenderness around the cheeks and eyes, headache, fever, tooth pain and loss of smell.
