What is shingles?
Shingles, also known as herpes zoster, is a painful condition that occurs when a nerve and the skin around it becomes infected. It’s caused by the same virus as chickenpox, which can remain dormant in the body and reactivate later in life.
The main symptom is pain, followed by a rash that develops over a few days. The pain can feel like burning, stabbing or tingling, and usually affects one side of the body. The rash may appear as red patches, blisters or scabs and is often accompanied by sensitivity in the affected area
Diagnosis & Treatment
